This mom contacted me to say she wanted a session for her newborn twins but it almost did not happen. This babies were born early and had to stay in the hospital for a bit, then life of course gets in the way and then what do you know a hurricane comes to town. But that did not stop us, I came to visit this sweet family on the Saturday before Hurricane Nate came and we just had a bit of fun reading and playing with the twins.
Vy grew up here in Gulf Breeze but now lives outside Dallas, she shared with me that she had her family come and visit her baby 3 years ago and they never left, I love that!! It is so nice to have your family close because your children grow up so fast. Vy said they get to visit Florida several times a year but they had never had photos taken at the beach, they wanted to enjoy the our white beaches and our beautiful water. I hope I was able to give them some wonderful memories for years to come!!
I admire each of our military families and their service to our country. Every time I think about moving I get knots in my stomach then I meet a family like Tressa and her kids who have moved every couple of years and they are so proud and gracious about what they do and the people they get to meet it makes me appreciate their service so much more!!
When Tressa and I spoke about doing a Lifestyle session in her home she told me she had a very active baby boy who loved to be bounced and talked too, and she did not lie, we were able to capture Bentley having a bit of fun. Aubrie on the other hand could have kept me there all day showing me everything in her room and modeling everything in her closet! We had so much fun exploring all the light around their house. I sure hope Daddy enjoys the photos and comes home soon!!
When this Pensacola family contacted me they had just welcomed a new baby and had family down from Massachusetts to visit the new baby. When I asked them to tell me a little about what they wanted, Sherry wrote "We really want to capture the beauty of the beaches with happy and relaxed poses." This whole session was nothing but laughs and fun!!
When this sweet family found out that their family was expanding they were excited!! But then they found out that their house of girls was now going to have a boy in it! All the excitement began, decorating, deciding on a name, etc, etc. Now the wait is over and Baby Charlie has arrived! He is just so perfect!!
When I arrived it was time to feed Harper, I decided it would be a wonderful time to capture a bonding experience, thinking more about momma and her baby. Being a parent myself, it seems like it was forever ago, and such a blur to me now. I was taken back by the strong bond that not only moms can have but dads can have as well. So loving and sweet is this young couple, I believe this baby is very loved indeed!!
As I am driving to meet this two for their Tea Party session it is raining, but here on the Gulf Coast I have learned not to panic, it may be raining but it 20 minutes you may see the sun again. We did not see the sun, but it did stop raining long enough for these two to enjoy a spot of tea at their Tea Party!!
Set up: #Matildajaneclothing
My daughter Elizabeth has learned over the years to appreciate good light! She came running in the house last night to tell me, "Mom, you have to come see the sun outside"
We knew we had just a few minutes before the sun dipped beyond the tress in our neighborhood, I loved watching her take in every last ounce of sun and what was left of the day. After the sun went beyond the trees, I put my camera down and we went for a bike ride trying to see if we could chase a little bit more of the day before it ended.
Adelyn was a bit shy when she first approached her tea party, but she quickly adjusted. She fed her dolly a spot of tea and chocolate. She then decided to take a few twirls in her Matilda Jane dress which was perfect with all the ruffles at the bottom, making for some great twirls.
A special thanks to Jennifer Stubbs, independent rep for Matilda Jane Clothing of which this whole session was styled.
Emily contacted me to take photos of her two year old just before the birth of her new baby. While we were walking around taking photos of her son, there were these gorgeous Camilas in bloom everywhere! Then it hit me, what a perfect spot for Emily to have her own photos taken with her new baby in her belly. The scene looks like an enchanting story with Emily being the princess, and what a pretty princess mom she is...
A girl and her art!
When I asked Reese if I could come and photograph her studio, she was more than gracious to let me come into her space. I was very excited not only because I totally love her art but because I was feeling a little less than creative and thought an artist was just the person I needed to see to get some inspiration. When I arrived her two daughters gave me a wonderful tour, her studio was just how I had imagined, paint everywhere and she had art scattered about, and even one that she had started that morning. She told me she loved candles and she had various lighting thru out her space. I loved reading all of her inspirational sayings, bible messages, etc that were everywhere you looked, I felt calm and safe. It was just what I needed, you will see from my photos I did not move anything in her space but rather tried to capture the story Reese and her art, and what a beautiful story it is..
When Malinda contacted about taking photos of her family and her two daughter"s dogs, I must admit I was a bit nervous! What if the dogs did not like me, and what if I could not get them to look at the camera?? But oh my!! How cute are they and how well behaved they were and the girls were just so sweet with them! We had a wonderful time in spite of the crazy Flordia Humidity!!
This idea came to me after I had scoped out this gorgeous field for another client who changed their mind. The owner so graciously let me use their property, and I could not wait to photograph there. I did not have a vision but just wanted the girls to have some fun and twirl.
I must admit, on Pinterest everyone is laying in a field of tall grass and flowers looking so peaceful and happy but our experience was not the same! We did have fun, but we all sprayed a lot for bugs, and they were still all around us and we were all on snake patrol every with every move we made. In the end we laughed, joked and had ice cream as our reward.
When Amber asked me would I be interested in taking her maternity photos, I was thinking I thought you would never ask!! This couple is not only gorgeous on the outside but they are both just as gorgeous and sweet on the inside. They are such wonderful teachers to the youth in our church and I know they are going to be the most wondeful parents. I can't wait to meet baby "Battle"
Oh Don't you wonder what it is like to be in the world of a 2 year old!! Everything around you is new and so exciting, there is no time to sit, because there is much to be explored! Fort Pickens is the best place to explore because there is plenty to see. However, on this Hot, Hot July evening, not only was the heat a factor, but some very nasty fire ants! But as you can see, it do not stop this little 2 year old from having a blast exploring!!
I must admit when I give my clients the option of sunrise or sunset, I hold my breathe hoping they do not pick sunrise but WOW have I been missing out!! It is the most peaceful time on the beach, the is no one around so you have the beach to yourself and watching the sunrise is one of God's true miracle and a must see. If you can pull yourself out of bed, I suggest you grab a cup of Joe and come on down. What a blast I had with this family who just moved here from TN, and who knew they just live around the block from me. Their laughter makes me still smile as I write this blog!
Oh how I enjoyed playing with this little one at the beach! Her mother told me they did not get to go to the beach very often with two small kids you have to pack everything but the kitchen sink. Little Evelyn was so excited to be at the beach, she ran, she jumped, she rolled and she growled, yes growled at the ocean! I think her two favorite things to do was to roll around in the sand followed by running close as she could get to the surf and growl like a lion at it. I could not stop laughing as I watched her enjoy our gorgeous Gulf!
